How it's worked out
We add exactly 1,000,000,000 seconds to the moment you were born. If you enter your birth time, you get the minute; otherwise we assume you were born at midday, so the result could be up to 12 hours out either way. The date is shown in your own time zone.

Do leap seconds make a difference?
Barely. Only 27 leap seconds have been added to clocks since 1972, and none since 2016, so at most your moment shifts by under half a minute. We leave them out.
