What's on the poster
The poster counts a whole life up to a date you choose, usually their next birthday, so the numbers are right on the day it's opened. It shows how many days they've been alive, their heartbeats, breaths, blinks, dreams, words spoken, laughs and hours asleep, how far they've travelled around the Sun, their age on other planets and a star whose light set off around the time they were born. You can add a short message at the bottom.
Body figures use published averages that change with age, so a baby's fast heartbeat is counted differently from an adult's. They're good estimates for a typical person rather than a measurement of one.
Printing it
The download is a 2480 × 3508 pixel image: A4 at 300 dots per inch, the usual standard for a sharp print. It also scales to A3 and still looks crisp at arm's length. Print it at home on thick matte paper, or upload it to any online photo or poster printing service, and it will fit a standard A4 or A3 frame without trimming. The Paper style suits most frames; Night looks striking in a black or oak frame.

It works well for milestone birthdays like 18, 21, 30, 40, 50 and beyond, for a grandparent who has everything, or as a first-birthday keepsake for a baby. Choose a date other than a birthday to mark an anniversary, a retirement or a 10,000th day.

Do you keep the details I enter?
No. The poster is drawn in your own browser and nothing you type is sent anywhere. When you make one for someone else, their details aren't saved at all, not even on your device.
What if they were born on 29 February?
In years without a 29 February, the poster counts to 1 March.
